To Our Valued Residents:
Utility shut-off bans put in place at the beginning of the COVID-19 Emergency could be lifted soon. This means companies including PNM, NM Gas and the Water Authority could begin cutting off electric, gas and water for non-paying customers. These shut-offs may take place sooner than expected if you have a significant balance on your utility bill, or if you have not made a payment in quite some time.
Because of this new uncertainty we encourage you to make at least some payment on your utility bills each month. Eventually, you will need to pay your utility bills in full and at that time you will be considered the responsible customer, likely subject to more cooperation on your payment plan. Keeping your utilities connected is always best.
Below are links to several resources that can provide help with your monthly utility bills:
Bernalillo County Utility Assistance Grants (Application deadline is November 4)
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
PNM Good Neighbor Fund
Help New Mexico, Inc.
Don’t delay! Some programs have application deadlines and funds are limited. Make sure you take advantage of these opportunities for financial assistance during this difficult and uncertain time.
At ABQ Rent to Own Homes we make every effort to stay current on continuously changing news and information related to the Coronavirus Pandemic, including financial relief opportunities for our residents. As always, we are here for you and will continue to provide you with important updates as they arise.
