October 23, 2020

Freezing temperatures are expected to arrive in Albuquerque, Monday, October 26 and remain throughout the week.

If your home has an Evaporative Cooling System (Swamp Cooler) you must make sure you disconnect and drain your swamp cooler line as soon as possible. This simple step will help prevent water from freezing in the line and causing subsequent water damage to your home. Water damage can be costly to repair and can ruin your personal belongings.

Step-by-step instructions to disconnecting the water line are below:

1) Turn off the water at the swamp cooler line
2) Disconnect the line from the spigot or water heater line with a wrench
3) Drain the line in to a bucket

If you have any questions, please call Jed at 505-514-4539. Don't wait if you're unsure of what to do. A detailed description of how to fully prepare your home and your HVAC system for winter weather is available on our website  https://www.abqrent2own.com/home-winterization.html
