The City of Albuquerque through CARES Act funding has created the CABQ Community Impact Fund, offering $2,000 to qualified applicants who have experienced a financial hardship due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Applications will be open this coming Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.
Those who will qualify include individuals or families who were previously excluded from federal stimulus aid, do not qualify for unemployment or paid sick leave benefits, or have experienced loss of employment due to a COVID-19 workplace shutdown.
The Community Impact Fund will offer direct assistance to qualifying households to cover basic needs, food, housing costs, utilities, transportation, school supplies, and other household expenses such as child care, health care, or medical expenses. Assistance can also be used to pay back a loan or debt incurred during the pandemic.
Applications will be open December 7 and run through December 30, 2020, or until funds are exhausted. The direct assistance will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Please submit your applications as early as possible. A household can apply only once.
