Freezing temperatures are expected to arrive in Albuquerque over the weekend and remain for the next several days. Significant drops in temperature can cause catastrophic damage including burst pipes that can destroy the interior of your home and personal property.

Here are a few simple, but necessary steps you can take to protect your home during the deep freeze:

 1)      Disconnect gardening hoses
 2)      Use a hose bib cover over exterior spigots (a towel wrapped around the spigot can be used as a substitute)
 3)      Turn off irrigation sprinklers
 4)      Leave cabinet doors open where you have sinks adjacent to exterior walls to let warm air in
 5)      Keep your thermostat consistent during day and night to regulate interior temperatures

And please remember to bring your furry family members indoors during this time!

If you have any questions, please call Jed at 505-514-4539. Don't wait if you're unsure of what to do. A quick phone call can save you thousands of dollars.

Stay safe and warm ~
